While I peruse the makeup counters endlessly, sometimes what I want just does not seem to be readily available. Most recently, I set out to replicate that gorgeous makeup Jennifer Lopez wore in her I’m Into You video. I was displeased with all of the foundations that I had sampled. I even rummaged through some old bottles I had in a closet to find anything that would come close. It did not happen.

My objective was to maintain a dewy finish, but simultaneously get enough coverage to hide those unmentionable flaws. Um, ok I know you know I mean dark circles, uneven pigmentation, large pores, oddly visible veins, and so on. Everything I tested, which involved no further blending, or combining of products I tried left me lackluster, or too sheer. Yes, I do want to look youthful, glowing and natural, but I know it has to be done with a great deal of smoke and mirrors, not with just a tinted moisturizer.

In sum, I ended up returning to an old favourite, Bobbi Brown Studio Sculpt foundation, which alone is a bit too much coverage for me these days. But when paired up, 2 parts MAC Strobe Cream with 1 part BB foundation, it is exactly what I was seeking.
